Nippon Connection Film Festival for BKB Charity

he 17th Japanese film festival in Frankfurt am Main was entirely dedicated to the good cause, as the organisers were broadly committed to BKB Charity. In the world’s largest platform for Japanese cinema the humanitarian initiative BKB Charity was presented to an interested international audience.

A special highlight of the festival was the Japanese actor and this year’s winner of the “Nippon Honor Award”, Koji Yakusho, who was also received as an honorary guest at the information booth of BKB Charity. Koji Yakusho has shaped the Japanese film world for over forty years – as an actor and a director.

In addition to the approximately 100 films that could be watched at Nippon Connection, there were workshops and panel discussions, in which one could actively take part, and thus get an idea about the Japanese film industry. Through the many accompanying events, the cordial contacts with the Japanese filmmakers and the visitors from all over the world as well as the culinary Japanese delicacies, one had the wonderful opportunity to get to know the Japanese culture even beyond the film topic.
